The Center for Digital Health is seeking an Executive Director (Administrative Services Administrator 3) to implement and operationalize the vision, strategy, and goals. As Stanford’s collaborative digital health hub, CDH is focused on three core principles:

Leadership: leading partners through the digital health life cycle–strategy, ideation, product iteration, validation, and implementation at scale.

Research: conducting novel research as part of a robust infrastructure with interdisciplinary collaborators, ranging from pilot projects to real-world evidence generation to large scale, multi-center trials.

Education: Educating and training the next generation of health technology leaders by sharing knowledge and insights from our community and creating a forum for collaboration.

Working directly under the guidance of the Director of the CDH, Eleni Linos, MD, MPH, DrPH, the Executive Director will be responsible for developing CDH’s identity, implementing the vision for the center, and managing CDH’s programs centered around research, technology development, education, strategic advising, and networking.

Primary responsibilities include managing operations within the key focus areas of leadership, research, and education; implementation of the center’s long-term strategy and vision; direct oversight of program manager(s), visiting student researcher(s), and intern(s); development and maintenance of budgets; development of marketing strategies, thought leadership, and management of content dissemination activities; identifying, fostering, and developing collaborations with third party companies and other external stakeholders; assist with the review of contracts and agreements; and hiring additional personnel as the center grows. Additional duties include assisting the Chair of the DOM with strategic initiatives within the department and fostering relationships with other key leadership across the Stanford ecosystem. Under the Director’s guidance, the Executive Director will also be the key person responsible for the oversight of large ongoing multi-stakeholder collaborations in digital health, health technology, and other scientific pursuits including program project grants, multi-institution collaborations, strategic advisory and industry programs, with support from CDH staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate center strategy within the defined focus areas of leadership, research, and education.
  • Plan, direct, and execute on all center programs.
  • Lead, influence, and motivate constituencies which span multiple internal and external organizational boundaries.
  • Develop innovative and creative solutions to complex problems within center programs and initiatives.
  • Operationalize projects and coordinate efforts with large, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Direct and lead large, complex research programs involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop original thought leadership content and a marketing/dissemination plan.
  • Develop and manage budgets and monitor center finances.
  • Identify, develop, and cultivate collaborative relationships with third-party companies and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with faculty stakeholders and key Stanford leadership.
  • Direct all program manager(s), intern(s), fellow(s), and other center personnel.
  • Analyze data, create reports, review trends, research market activities, and explore collaborative opportunities with industry.
  • Assist with the review of legal contracts and agreements.
  • Help guide and develop marketing strategy.
  • digital health course curriculum (professional education).
  • Assist with scientific writing and editing content for proposals, research grants, peer-reviewed publications, and other program activities.
  • Assist with and support strategic initiatives and strategic collaborations led by the Department of Medicine.
